Why isn't my bank info or payment method saving?

Troubleshooting steps when adding a deposit account, payment method, or pickup location fails to save.

If your bank account, payment method, or pickup location isn't saving, the cause is almost always one of three things: identity verification not yet complete, a routing/account number formatting issue, or a browser session timing out mid-form. This guide walks through each.

1. Identity verification not yet complete

Before you can save a deposit account (where your payouts land), you need to complete identity verification β€” name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number. This is a payment-processor requirement, not a Homegrown one. Without it, the bank account form will accept your input but won't successfully save.

Go to Account β†’ Identity Verification first. Once that completes (usually instant, occasionally up to 24 hours for manual review), come back to Account β†’ Deposit Account and try again.

2. Routing or account number formatting

Use your bank's ACH routing number, not the wire transfer routing number β€” they're different at most banks. The ACH number is on the bottom-left of a paper check. Account numbers should be entered without dashes or spaces.

If you're not sure, call your bank and ask for "the ACH routing number for direct deposit."

3. Browser session timing out

If you've been on the page for a while (more than ~30 minutes), your session may have expired silently. Refresh the page, sign back in if needed, and re-enter the form. Saving in one go usually works.

Adding a customer payment method (shopper-side)

If a shopper is having trouble saving a payment method at checkout, the most common cause is a card issuer rejecting the address. Make sure the billing ZIP matches the card on file with the issuing bank.

Pickup location not saving

Pickup locations require a complete address (including ZIP) plus pickup hours. If any required field is empty, the form silently fails to save. Look for a red highlight on any field that's missing.
