Subscription Payments and Adjustments

Understand how your monthly subscription fees and any adjustments appear in your ledger.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Homegrown charges vendors a monthly subscription fee for access to platform features. These payments are processed automatically and recorded in your ledger.

Occasionally, you may also see adjustments or credits that apply to your account. This guide explains how both are tracked and how they affect your balance.

Subscription Payments

Detail

Information

Payment Method

Charges are deducted from your available balance if funds exist to cover the entire subscription balance.

Ledger Entries

Two entries: Invoice (for record) + Payment (actual deduction)

Failed Payments

If balance is insufficient, system retries; vendors are notified if payment fails

How Subscription Charges Appear in Your Ledger

You’ll see two related entries:

  1. Subscription Invoice — Reference for your monthly charge (no balance impact)

  2. Subscription Payment — Actual deduction from your balance

Example Entry

Amount

Subscription Invoice #40

$9.99

Subscription Payment for Invoice #40

-$9.99

🚀 Pro Tip: Need to check your billing history? These entries let you track every subscription payment in detail, even before financial reporting tools are added.

Adjustments and Their Impact

  • Adjustments may be applied by Homegrown for special cases (e.g., credits, corrections).

  • These are rare and do not affect your available balance.

  • Typically used for future subscription credits or other internal purposes.

Example Entry

Amount

Platform Credit Applied

$10.00

🧮 Fun Fact: Adjustments are ledger-only entries and can’t be withdrawn—they apply toward platform costs like subscriptions.
