This tutorial covers both farmers market locations and standalone pickup spots like your home, farm stand, or storefront.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Shoppers need at least one way to get their order before they can check out — a pickup location or a delivery area. If you only deliver, you don't need a pickup location at all: see Setting up local delivery.
Note on the video: this tutorial was recorded before local delivery launched. A pickup location is no longer required — you can sell with a delivery area only. See Setting up local delivery.
🎯 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
Why you need a pickup location or a delivery area before you can accept orders
The two types of pickup locations (farmers market vs standalone)
How to find and add farmers market locations
How to create standalone pickup locations (home, farm, storefront)
Setting preparation time (how much notice you need)
Configuring pickup hours and availability
Why adding multiple locations increases your visibility
What the customer experience looks like when selecting pickup
Changing prep time later
Every location type — Market, Standalone, and Delivery — can be edited after you create it. Open Locations, tap Manage location, then the pencil icon at the top right, and change the prep time under Fulfillment. Details: How do I change my order prep time?
What shoppers see
Your storefront shows your real upcoming pickup dates, not a generic weekly schedule, so shoppers pick from days you're actually there. Your prep time sets how soon the first available date can be.
