What's new on Homegrown — 2026 updates

Recent platform updates, new features, and improvements shipped throughout 2026.

We ship updates to Homegrown almost every week. This page is a running summary of what's new in 2026 — the features that change how you work, not the small bug fixes.

August 2026

  • Delivery-only vendors can sell. If you deliver but don't do pickups, everything works end to end. Checkout starts in delivery mode, a pickup location is no longer required to take orders, and your Getting Started checklist counts a delivery area as set up. Learn more.

  • Edit prep time on market locations. Market locations now have the same Edit control as standalone spots and delivery areas, so you can change prep time without deleting and rebuilding the location. Learn more.

  • Your storefront follows your subscription. Reactivating is easier, and your storefront turns back on automatically when you do — no manual on/off step.

  • Cancel and refund completed orders. Completed orders can be fully cancelled and refunded, and the shopper is notified automatically.

  • Card declines in plain language. A declined card now explains what happened and what to do next, at checkout and in Point of Sale.

  • Redesigned order notifications. Order notifications now carry product thumbnails, and a tap opens the cart.

  • Stronger payment protection. A double-tapped confirmation can't charge a shopper twice, and saved cards are re-checked before the charge goes through.

  • More accurate payouts. A bug that could count an order credit twice is fixed and guarded against.

July 2026

  • Real pickup dates on storefronts. Your storefront shows your actual upcoming pickup dates instead of a flattened weekly schedule.

  • Past-due payment reminders. If a subscription payment fails, you get reminder emails with a way to fix it instead of silence.

  • Mobile sign-in fixed. Signing in on mobile works again, password and Google both. The shopper app no longer closes when you tap Cart.

June 2026

  • Local delivery. Drive orders to shoppers near you. Set your radius, delivery fee, minimum order and delivery days — you keep the fee, minus card processing. Learn more.

  • Standalone storefront. Your store link now opens your own page — your logo and products, no marketplace menu pulling shoppers away.

  • Vendor community. A private Facebook group for Homegrown vendors to swap pricing and what's actually selling.

  • Clearer payout emails. When a payout has a hold or reserve on it, the email spells out how much, why, and when it releases.

  • Storefront bio "Read more". A longer story stays tidy — your bio shows a couple of lines, then expands.

May 2026

  • Vendor referral program. Share your referral link. When another vendor signs up and starts their trial, you both get a free month.

  • Same-day pickup. Shoppers can pick up today instead of waiting until tomorrow, as long as your pickup hours haven't passed.

  • Hide your home address until they buy. Home-based vendors can set a pickup location to approximate — shoppers see the neighborhood, and the exact address only after they buy.

  • Four months of pickup dates at checkout. Shoppers used to see only the next two weeks, so a pickup a month out showed a blank screen.

April 2026

  • No more shopper service fee or payout fees. The $1 shopper service fee at checkout and the $0.50 ACH payout fee are gone. Shoppers see exactly the prices you set; payouts are 100% free.

  • In-app vendor ↔ shopper messaging. Message shoppers directly inside Homegrown about an order — no more switching to email. Learn more.

  • Reviews on storefronts. Shoppers can now leave reviews on your store and individual products after fulfilling an order. Learn more.

  • Founding Vendor 6-month free offer. First vendors in a new geographic area can get six months free. Learn more.

  • Cancellation downsell flow. Vendors thinking about canceling now see options that might be a better fit before fully canceling.

  • Mobile photo upload progress indicator. Uploading product photos from your phone now shows progress — no more wondering if it's stuck.

March 2026

  • New authentication. Sign-in is faster and more reliable. The login flow now defaults to "Create account" for first-time visitors.

  • Faster payouts. Next-day payouts are standard with a $10 minimum balance.

  • Identity verification gate. Before you can save a deposit account, you'll go through a quick ID verification step (required by our payment processor). Learn more.

  • Default emoji product photos. Products without a photo now show a category-appropriate emoji while you take real photos.

  • The Get Sales checklist. A guided in-dashboard checklist walks new vendors through everything they need to start getting orders.

  • AI marketing tools. Description generator, social post generator, and pricing helper — inside your dashboard.

  • Templates library. Copy-paste text messages, social captions, and emails for promoting your store.

  • Share & QR page. One place to grab your store link or download a QR code for printing.

  • Updated dashboard navigation with progressive states across markets, vendors, products, and storefronts.

Earlier 2026

  • Simplified vendor signup flow with three clear steps

  • Subscription suspended/canceled state handling

  • Updated trial pricing — 7-day free trial, then $10/month or $12.50/month annual equivalent
